研究方向及研究室特色(Lab & Research Interest)

  1. 研究幹細胞在組織工程方面的應用
            幹細胞由於其自我更新分化為其它體細胞能力,因此能應用於再生醫學上以修補受損的器官或組織。而成體幹細胞由於沒有一般胚胎幹細胞的缺點如免疫排斥,腫瘤生成以及道德爭議,因此在醫療應用上更具潛力。研究發現不同種類的成體幹細胞具有不同的分化能力,因此我們希望可以將合適的幹細胞應用於特定的組織再生醫學應用上,此外亦會合併基因轉殖、RNAi等技術以發展更有效的方法。
  2. 探討病毒與宿主幹細胞之間的關係       

        ​幹細胞極容易被各種因素影響,包括化學藥劑,生長激素,表面分子等,甚至物理因素也能夠左右其分化路徑。然而目前我們對於生物因素,例如細菌或病毒感染是否能影響幹細胞的特性則較不了解。有一些研究指出病毒的感染能使得某些成體幹細胞分化為特定的體細胞,但是對於其它幹細胞特性的影響之研究則較為缺乏。因此,我們研究室目前致力於研究病毒感染對於幹細胞的影響。尤其針對一些新興病毒,是否能經由感染幹細胞而影響其致病機轉是我們相當有興趣的一個研究方向。
