A Brief Historical Description of the Department
The department of Medical Technology was first established in 1989 with the approval of the Ministry of Education. The original teaching objective was to train competent medical technologists. In 1996, the division of Radiologic Technology was added to this department. In 2004, the division of Medical Technology became the Department of Medical Biotechnology and Clinical Laboratory Sciences whereas the division of Radiologic Technology became the department of Medical Imaging and Radiologic Sciences. Before that, in 2002, this department started to recruit Master graduate students. In 2007, the department of Medical Biotechnology and Clinical Laboratory Sciences started to recruit doctoral graduate students through the Graduate Institute of Biomedical Sciences.
